Can’t believe the crushing excitement and playable insanity of our upcoming Ball Game Steam tournament? Us either!
 
But don’t worry, you sensitive creative types — we haven’t forgotten you. Starting today, we’re accepting submissions for our BattleBlock Theater Arena Mode Playlist Creation Contest!
 

Anyone 13 or older can submit their original XBLA or Steam Arena Mode playlists for consideration. We’re accepting playlist submissions from July 15th to August 15th.
 
The very best playlists for each platform (as decided by our panel of judges) will be awarded grand prizes or honorable mentions.
 
The grand prize will be some awesome BattleBlock Theater merchandise signed by our Level Designers, as well as immediate and exciting recognition as an Arena Mode Feature in-game. Honorable mentions will also receive incredible BattleBlock Theater merchandise, and consideration for future Features.
 
There will be one grand prize per platform (so that’s two total — one for XBLA and one for Steam), as well as two additional honorable mentions per platform.

This weekend, a Triple Threat comes your way in BattleBlock Theater! You’ll see it right when you load up your game — BAM! Don’t worry, it’s practically harmless…until you decide to arm it with frog bombs, exploding airplanes and good ol’ fists if you choose hand-to-hand combat (now that’s a triple threat!).

Watch Ball Game Tournament – July 16th on Twitch

We did registrations last week and now we’re finishing up the auditions for the Ball Game Tournament. The real challenge starts at 3PM PST next week on July 16th when we stream the BattleBlock Theater Steam Ball Game Tournament live. If you’re ready to watch some amazing matches and cheer for your fellow BattleBlock Theater Steam players, then follow our Twitch TV channel now. Then tune in on July 16th between 3:00PM – 5:30PM PST to see who gets to be a champion and win the mystery grand prize.
 
We will reveal what the mystery grand prize is at the beginning of the live stream before we get the tournament started. Then each accepted contestant will be given a chance to win a Best of 3 match. Those who win the Best of 3 will get to advance in the tourney; those who lose will be out. It’ll be non-stop action using both Behemoth made levels and community made playlists.
