There was a time…

Way back in the summer of 2003, when we decided we should set up a table in a 10 x 10 booth at Comic Con and see if we could get some traction for our new, unfinished game called Alien Hominid…

Photos clockwise from upper left: 1. the Behemoth and Capcom go waaaay back and they never stood a chance. 2. Real live aliens! 3. The Redeemer 4. The Con in 2003, it’s empty! 5. More aliens! 6. Our booth in 2006 – the Con has exploded with fans.

Fast forward to 2017, and a gazillion expos and tradeshows later, and we find ourselves at our 15th consecutive Comic Con. Just like a 15-year-old kid, we are twitchy to try something new and exciting at the show. Sure, that time that Buddy Christ came by, or Conan O’brien* came by or the Wayans Bros. came by was cool, but wouldn’t the Con be more fun with some friends to share the fate of games being exiled to the farthest reaches of the expo hall awesomeness of the whole show with?

So this is what we are going to do. This year you’ll be able to find us again in Hall A at Booth 229 as always but this time with some other familiar faces from the gaming world. We’ve invited some of our good friends to join us and we hope you come visit us at the Behemoth + Friends booth! Have we mentioned that they are our friends? Indeed they are.

We didn’t make any of these games but we love all of them and you will too!

Check out their rad game trailers…because they are rad!

Of course, this extravaganza wouldn’t be a true thing if there weren’t some cool folks from each studio on hand so if you come by the booth, you’ll be able to meet the creators of these rad games! Talk to them, see their lips move, try to discover which is an AI! Or maybe it is one of us Behemoths…we’ll never tell.

In addition to shipping themselves over to San Diego, some of guest devs will also be shipping over t-shirts that we will be selling at the store in our booth! You won’t be able to get these anywhere else (maybe?) so come by before we sell out of everything AGAIN! You can do it!

But wait! That’s not all. In addition to our guest devs, we will have a whole slew of our very own Behemoth arcade cabs, including Pit People, BattleBlock Theater, Back Off Barbarian, and of course Super Soviet Missile Mastar **.

That’s all for today!

* Full disclosure, Conan did come by but he didn’t stop to play our games. But we know he WANTED to…really! We are not making this up.

** SSMM participation subject to the various current world crisis’ because, yeah, that’s a thing now! We will check our back channel to Moscow to see if we can get permission to show it.

Edit: This post was originally published June 20, 2017. We won’t be holding a Pit People tournament at SDCC, but attendees can still experience the new PVP arcade cabinets!

RTX 2017 – Day 3 Recap

Sunday, fun day, and final day. Oh what a day! It has been such an adventure with all of the events at our booth.

Pew Pew!

Day 3 was the last chance for attendees to join the Pit People PVP Challenge at RTX.

Many players came to challenge their fellow RTX attendees, but only a few walked away with some loot!

Congrats to the winners of our Day 3 challenges! Thank you to everyone who came by the booth to play Pit People PVP the past few days.

We’d also like to thank everyone who bought some official merch and to all who stopped by to say hi. It means so much to us to get to meet fans of our games face-to-face!

After the doors closed, our team of four tore down the booth and everything is being shipped back to San Diego for the next con.

Thanks again for the memories, RTX. We’ll see you next year!

RTX 2017 – Day 2 Recap

Rooster Teeth Expo Day 2 was a blast! The doors opened early and we got to add on a new event with our friends from Cow Chop.

James, a.k.a. UberHaxorNova, fought against fans on our Pit People PVP arcade cabinets. In the end, he lost some rounds and he won some rounds but it was all in the name of fun!

After the Cow Chop crew headed out for their autograph signing, we went right into our own Pit People PVP Challenge.

On Day 2, we had 24 challengers go up against each other! You can see the winners in our RTX 2017 Day 2 Flickr Album.

There will be one last chance on Day 3 to join the PVP Challenge to fight in the Pit. Get all the details HERE.

After all the chaos of the day, we can’t believe it’s already down to the last day of RTX! If you’re coming to Day 3, make sure to stop by our booth to pick up a Pit People koozie. Just show off your Pit People knowledge to one of our staff (or play the Pit People demo) and they’ll hook you up!
