The Behemoth Tradeshows Virtually: PAX Online & EGX Digital!

It’s almost time for PAX and EGX 2020, Online Extravaganza Edition! We’re excited to come over to hang out in your house and share all of our great games and tradeshow goodies with you. Don’t worry, your mom said it was cool. You’re bringing snacks, right?

But don’t worry, we promise to be good hosts, even if we’re going to be the ones that are in your home! The PAX Online and EGX Digital event runs 24/7 from September 12th – September 20th, and we’ve got a whole menu of offerings for ya, so why don’t you sneak a little peek at all of the fun things we have in store…

Alien Hominid Invasion: The Demo

Oh yeah, you bet we’re starting with the big one that you’ve all been waiting for.

We’ve been putting in work and have made a load of changes to Alien Hominid Invasion, and we’re excited to show it all off… actually, forget showing off. Why don’t you just try it out for yourself?

For the first time ever, you’ll be able to get a taste of our in-development title Alien Hominid Invasion from the comfort of your own home with our PAX Online Demo!

The Alien Hominid Invasion Demo will be available to play on Steam on September 12th and 13th, and again on September 18th and 19th (that’s in Pacific Time, for everyone joining us from across the globe).

We have lots of new bits and pieces of the game to share, including increased difficulty, new enemies, art updates, achievements, more objectives, map updates, additional enemy swarms, the addition of lunch money, and the highly-requested (and totally optional!) blood and gore feature.

While we continue to develop the game, we haven’t nailed down a release date just yet. Either way, we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on and hear what you think!

The Behemoth Booth Experience

This year our booth is alllllll virtual, which makes it extra easy to drop by! We’ll be spinning up a special “PAX Online” section in our Discord server so we can chat about all things back and you can meet up with other show attendees.

We’ll also have special Discord Booth Hours, where you can drop by to chat with Behemoth staff and pretend you’re actually at the show! When these hours are on, you’ll be able to drop your questions and comments in a special text chat channel, and join up in one of our voice servers to hear us read and respond in real time!

Each date will have a special focus that we’ll be chatting about. Check out our schedule here:

P.S., or should we say “P.C.”: You may have noticed something extra special happening on September 14th! Patric Catani is the talented composer behind much of the music you know and love from BattleBlock Theater, Pit People, and soon to be Alien Hominid Invasion. He’ll be putting on a very special musical show for all of the Behemoth fans at PAX Online, so this is definitely a day you won’t want to miss!

Merch: The PAX Vault Opens!

We always roll up to PAX with some pretty cool merch and exclusives, and this year is no different. We’ll have a full spread of merchandise available at store.thebehemoth.com, as well as some new Alien Hominid Invasion pieces and an exclusive PAX Online T-Shirt that you won’t want to miss.

Seriously, you don’t want to miss it.

We call this one “your brain on online isolation”.

Plus, for the first time ever, we also have a special offering that we’re calling “The PAX Vault”. We’re clearing out our stockroom of old and forgotten PAX merchandise from years and tradeshows past, so if you ever saw something super cool that you just couldn’t get, now might be your perfect chance!

Sizes and styles in the PAX Vault are extremely limited, so if something catches your eye you’ll want to grab it as soon as possible! When it’s gone, it’s gone, and it ain’t comin’ back!

Alien Hominid Invasion: Streamer Survival Challenge

We’re challenging all the livestreaming Alien invaders to a special competition during PAX Online + EGX Digital! The premise is simple: try to take down the most Agents in a 20-minute round of Alien Hominid Invasion, and you could win 100 gifted subscriptions from The Behemoth in your Twitch channel!

Before you get out invading, there are a few rules you’ll need to brush up on to make sure your contest entries count! You can check out the rules and learn how to enter here. Submissions close at 10 AM PT on September 20th, so get invading!

Behemoth Jam Sessions – Now on Spotify

Whether the change of seasons has you headed back to school, back to work, or even if your summer continues on forever and ever, music is always a good way to break up your daily grind — especially if that music makes you remember your favorite-est of games and gets you feelin’ funky fresh.

Well, funky fresh is our middle name (not legally) and we’re here to help. We’ve put together some Spotify playlists for you to jam out to during your day, featuring official game music and tunes from Castle Crashers, BattleBlock Theater, and Pit People!

If you want to mix things up and get even SPICIER, we’ve also pulled together a Spotify playlist of fanmade covers! There are a variety of unique covers of the songs you know and love in here, so if your ears are feeling adventurous we definitely recommend giving it a listen.

What Behemoth game soundtrack are you most excited to listen to? We’d love to hear all about it (no listening pun intended)! Be sure to let us know on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook.
