Castle Crashers ready for submission

castlestat

Dear Behemeisters,

Just a quick note to update you on Castle Crashers for PSN’s progress. After months and months of rigorous testing, we’re beginning the FINAL submission process! We still can’t estimate a release date, as this submission process is highly variable and involves yet more verification by Sony.  We will, of course, let you know when we have an idea of the date so you can put it on your calendars.

We are very pleased with the way Castle Crashers for PS3 has turned out and we look forward to playing with you soon!

Word up to all the XBLA Castle Crashers players out there! The Behemoth would never had made it this far without the overwhelmingly positive response Castle got from players on XBLA. You’ve shown a lot of love for this game and we want to share that love with as many players out there as possible.  Behemoth loves you and we haven’t forgotten about you either.

PAX East, Day 1

Hello all! Tierney here, you may have seen me in such roles as “The Orange Princess does Comic-Con ’09” …or, well that is about it. I’m here to update you on team Behemoth U.S.A and our travels so far this week.

Hatty prepares for departure!
Hatty prepares for departure!

Upon our arrival to this freezing, ice city of brick  and bridges, we quickly learned two things: we’re not  in San Diego anymore (burr) and apparently we missed Dunkin’ Donuts global takeover. Seriously, there are two D.D’s per every Bostonian.

With the other half of our beloved Behemoth team as far away as they could possibly be while on the same  planet,  and our biggest booth to date, we have been busy worker bees. But let me just tell you, it has been so worth it, we hope you can come by and check it out! The chicken is as big and bad as he can be, and we have an awesome timeline that illustrates the evolution of the Behemoth. Custom lighting and pods for all of our knights, shirts and other various delights,  plus 4 consoles to play BattleBlock Theater & Castle Crashers make this the happiest place on earth.  For those of you who can’t join us, scope out the pictures of our awesome new booth digs. After the show starts tomorrow, we’ll add a few more pics so you can see the complete completion & fellow Behemoth fans in action.

Crashing Some PSN Castles

With all of the BattleBlock Theater news lately we wanted to be sure to update you on our other title we’re working on, Castle Crashers for the PSN. Development has been going great and our awesome programming team has been quietly and diligently making the game run and look beautiful on the PlayStation 3. Although we haven’t narrowed it down to a specific month yet, we’re still on track for a release this year.

With that said we have a new volleyball minigame that’s headed for the PSN version of Castle. Here’s some of the finer points presented to you in beautiful bullet point technology.

* Play co-op or vs your buddies
* Local or online play
* Play with up to 3 other friends in multiplayer volleyball.
* Add AI teammates or opponents for up to 4 on 4 matches
* Play as any character you have unlocked
* Variable stats based on character
* Use magic attacks to place 8 new magic status effects on the ball
* Cool new serving and spiking moves
* Play 1, 3 or 5 matches against your opponents
* Leaderboards to track the best in the land

We’ll try to get some screenshots going in the next few weeks or so, but it might get pushed back a little as we’re headed to Tokyo and Boston at the end of March. Speaking of which, if you didn’t already know we’ll be attending both the Tokyo Anime Fair and PAX East around the end of March. So if you’re in Tokyo or Boston come on by and say hello to us. It’s the first time we’ve done two shows on the same weekend so we’re very excited about that. Both BattleBlock Theater and Castle Crashers will be in attendance at both shows. New year, new shows, new demos. 2010 is the year of The Behemoth.
