PAX Prime 2012 – Final Set Up & Day 1

It often feels like we won’t get everything done in the two days before PAX starts, but somehow we manage with the man power of our small crew and we power through til the end! Here’s another time lapse video showing our final day of set up and a video montage of our set up before opening up on Friday for PAX 2012. (We went all out this show for you guys back at home!)

When doors opened up for the PAX Seattle crowd, we were ready! Didn’t know who would be coming to our booth, but we were hoping for another chance to chat with fans as it is our last trade show for 2012. It was an exciting first day with people lining up for the BattleBlock Theater and Castle Crashers arcade cabinets, we had knights crashing our booth and autograph signings by Dan Paladin and Tom Fulp from 1-3PM. Oh, and we also got to shock people by showing them the Castle Crashers Steam edition running off of tablets!

Level Lobby ft. Level Editor

I am proud to unveil our Level Editor for BattleBlock Theater.   This is just a PART of our Level Lobby – which I’ll get into a little later in another post.

Did you know that our Level Editor is the same editor we used to develop all of our own levels in Story mode?  And all of our official Arena levels as well!

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE (I always wanted to say that!):

  • It’s super easy to use!  Easier than putting on your own two shoes!
  • Create all kinds of twists and bends!
  • You can create & edit levels with friends!
  • Test it while you build it!  See if you’ve killed it!
  • Upload and share!  Download and rate!  What will you do with the each playlist’s fate?
  • Make it simple!  Make it complex!  A click of a button to amaze and perplex!

So you know, this has been so hard to keep quiet.  I mean we’ve had the Level Editor this entire time, but I can’t really tell anyone about it until we knew all the details and innerworkings.    Then we made it just a little nicer for you than we did for ourselves.  Because we think you deserve nice things.

I love you!

-Dan

PAX Prime 2012 – Set Up Day 1

A little to the left. A little higher. Projector screen looks perfect!

Let’s shift these boxes over towards the SpyParty booth just for a bit while we set up the Gift Shop. Move those tables next to the crates by the Firefall booth.

Things are constantly shifting and changing during set up. We’re provided a 50×20 sq ft area of empty space with just black carpeting to mark our boundaries. In one day, the open spot in the convention center is easily transmogrified into a semi-functional booth with plenty of man-made temporary structures for all of our merchandise and games.

We created a protected area for our tripod and left the camera shooting for eleven hours straight with a photo taken every thirty seconds or so. You can probably imagine how difficult that is with so many forklifts roaming around and stuff being moved left and right. But we did it! We’re happy to present to you our time lapse video of our PAX Prime 2012 Behemoth Booth #3003 set up!
