Comic-Con is almost upon us

Summer is here and with that comes the bright, vivid sun blasting tasty rays of sunshine on your skin, while enjoying a nice cool breeze of freedom. Or you could just spend it indoors with us at Comic-Con 2011! Our convention center in San Diego has so many windows inside of it it will be like you’re actually at the park with your family bonding with them.

In honor of our 10,000th year at Comic-Con we want to celebrate with you and your family by offering you a 30×20 carpeted space filled with our custom built arcade cabinets, and enough merchandise to keep you busy until I say this same thing next year. Speaking of merchandise here are some new t-shirt designs we’ve been working on that will be available this year at both Comic-Con and PAX Prime!

Ingredients include: Cotton, Polyester, Ink, and pepperoni pizza flavored Combos

PAX East, a story told in pictures

Did you ever go over to your friend’s house and build a fort? Pretty fun, right? You could say that PAX east was a bit like that. Now, if your fort held over a half ton of arcade cabinet and was visited by a few thousand of your closest friends, well, then I’d say it was almost exactly like that. Also, wow, you had one awesome childhood- we salute you. Now that Team Boston has sufficiently recovered from the Boston tundra, we wanted to share with you some of the behind the scenes trials and triumphs of this year’s PAX east, all through the magic of jpegs!

We hope you had fun at our little island in the sea of gaming goodness that is PAX East. We also hope Battleblock Theater gave you a chance to meet new friends… and that you then threw them head first into a grenade/laser beam/wall of spikes 🙂

Battleblock Theater – Opening Cinematic

One thing that was overwhelming for us at PAX East this year was the enormous response we had for our BattleBlock Theater demo. There was a line to play the game about 20 people deep the entire show!
Like most shows we attend we had great opportunities to talk to those of you who made it out and it really was great to see such a positive response from the latest build. With that said, we wanted to show you our brand new opening cinematic from the game.

We’re very happy with how this intro cinematic has turned out and your positive energy fuels our development train right off a cliff into a endless pit of joy and tears. If you did manage to miss the show, don’t worry we’ll be back in July for Comic-Con with another playable build of the game and as many arcade cabinets as we can fit inside our booth.

Below are some of the many articles that came from the show about Battleblock Theater as well as our booth at PAX:

Co-Optimus
Gamepro
DualShockers
1up
Joystiq
Gamespot

What did you think of the intro? As always we love to hear your feedback and response.
