Pit People’s Final Touches!

It has been nearly a year since we launched Pit People on early access. This journey has been an incredible experience! We’ve built a better game thanks to all your feedback.

So here’s a spicy little situation: We’ve decided that our next big drop will be the FULL version of the game! Yes, it shall be complete! You’ll be able to play through the story and find out what happens for everyone.

As we write this, we’re working on the last of the cinematics for the story campaign! This is the final push towards completing the game, alongside additional story quests and a new world map with bonus missions.

Since there’s so much involved with these last steps (VO, animation, level creation, music licensing, QA testing, etc), we’re not exactly sure when everything will line up for a full release date, but we’re shooting to release within the first few months of 2018.

Thank you again to all of the people who’ve been playing Pit People during early access and to everyone who has been sending us feedback. It has truly been invaluable and we can’t wait to share the conclusion of Pit People with you all!

Pit People VO Spotlight: Ian Moreno

As we were fleshing out more voices, Ian and I had both felt that unique voices for each of the main story’s heroes would be a cool thing to try. Ian gave Yosef a shot and we all unanimously loved it. It’s got a really fitting vibe for him.

Yosef is a demi-clops, meaning he’s part cyclops and part man. His past is somewhat mysterious as is his present. Meeting Yosef for the first time can be unnerving to some players. He’s always at the ready and seems questionably okay with just about anything that occurs. One subtle joke in Yosef’s design is that he prefers ranged attacks and yet he clearly lacks the depth perception required due to having just a single eyeball.

Pit People VO Spotlight: Monica Franco

Through mutual friends I’ve come to know Monica and her voice work. The vocal roles I needed filled weren’t the same sort of flavor as what others usually request of her. We had her working remotely for this one, so I’d give my rundown of what these characters are like and then wait for the magic! Monica nailed it on her first attempt.

The Gorgons are confident ladies who follow Greek mythology pretty closely. The Pit People Gorgons are a little confident, a little alluring, and a little mysterious. I think Monica nailed the vibe I was looking for which was potentially one of the most difficult roles on Pit People.

Monica also voiced Pandora, who is Pipistrella’s sibling. Pandora isn’t phased too much by most things, and might fit description of a tomboy overall. She wields a mace, along with her tiny tiara over partially combed hair.
