Let the Games Begin! Tournament of Champions 9/8/2012

>>UPDATE: Live Stream of Tournament will no longer be available, but we will keep you updated with plentiful forum posts (under Tournament of Champions section) and will post winners after every hour or so!

It’s been a couple weeks since we last spoke of the tournament, but our chosen knights who fought valiantly in the Qualifying Rounds have been practicing with true spirit and soul for the arrival of the day we call Tournament of Champions. It was postponed to September 8th for various reasons but there was absolutely no stopping this Tournament from happening. Someone, somewhere will be awarded with the golden Xbox and other Behemoth fortunes! The skills of our warriors will be observed September 8th from 10AM-5PM PST and the fates will decide the winner.

Before battle, give these knights encouragement and shower them with flowers in the forums if you desire (all you have to do is leave a positive comment). Players of the Tournament may also stay updated and chat with the official referees by posting here:

If you choose to join us on the day of the Tournament as a spectator, then you will find that our forums or official Tournament page will be the best place to find info on the latest winners of the rounds. The final matches in the final hour will be recorded and come Monday you will be able to see the courageous men, women, boys and girls fight to their animated death. One will stand victorious at the end.

For honor. For love. For golden Xbox.

Castle Crashers Sale On Xbox LIVE Arcade!

Egads! Somebody decided to chop the cost of Castle Crashers on Xbox LIVE Arcade in half as if it were a dastardly barbarian who pillaged our village. As you know, all lifeless, severed barbarian heads are only worth about 600 MS points on the black market, so that’s how much we’ll be charging for a copy of Castle Crashers from now through Monday, May 21st. Not a bad deal when you consider you’re getting the FULL game… that’s much better than only a portion of a barbarian corpse.

That right there is what we call value. You’d be a fool to pass up a deal like that. A FOOL! And don’t go tellin’ us that you already bought the game twenty times… that’s no excuse! When you see a good deal, you must snatch it up immediately, or you run the risk of having sleepless nights for the rest of your life. A lifetime of insomnia or 600 MS points. The choice is clear.

Plus, we know you forgot to buy mom a gift for Mother’s Day this past weekend. What better way to say, “I’m sorry for being a horrible offspring,” than with the gift of Castle Crashers? It’s what she really wants anyway. Seriously. She told us.

Grab a copy of Castle Crashers for 50% off before we realize what a horrible mistake we’ve made and put the price back where it should be. Check out the Microsoft Studios Sale!

A Milestone for Alien Hominid!

A long time ago, we made a game called Alien Hominid. It was based on the Newgrounds.com web game of the same name by Dan Paladin and Tom Fulp, and it led the creation of the Behemoth.

Well, just the other day, the original version of Alien Hominid passed a big milestone on Newgrounds – the game has now exceeded 20 million plays!

After being released on Newgrounds, the Behemoth was eventually formed and Alien Hominid was developed for the Nintendo GameCube and Sony PlayStation 2. Now the full HD version is available on Xbox LIVE.

Our lovable, little, yellow alien invader pal sure has come a long way since that little Flash version of the game. 20 million plays? That’s a LOT of chomped heads. Yeah… we’re really proud of him.

Anyway, we just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who’ve supported us by playing the game, sharing it with your friends, and even wearing our Alien Hominid antennae at the San Diego Comic-Con with pride!

In other news, our fan fiction writing contest finalists have been selected and you can vote for your favorite story. The top five will be the lucky winners of a BattleBlock Theater t-shirt or Castle Crashers on XBLA or PSN America. YOU choose those five. Winners will be announced next Tuesday, May 15th.

Until then, try playing the original Alien Hominid to relive some of those chomptacular memories!
