The Eye of the Cyclops

CITIZENS OF BEHEMOTHTOWN,

We’ve got a pair of eyes for you in this week’s Prisoner Update. Prisoners #10312 and #10329 give a perfect example of how BattleBlock Theater is meant to be played, and we’ll tell you why.

We selected this video to show the fans who have never experienced the demo at the tradeshows or seen it in action (without the shakiness with YouTube videos) a complete play of a level from beginning to end. These two thespians are acting in co-op campaign mode, where trust is the result of the actions as the equation! They learn quickly that they MUST work together if they want to finish the game–or even the level! Prisoners #10312and #10329 navigate block mayhem to collect gems that are the keys to their freedom!

Sometimes when people quickly play through the game, they forget to stop and look at the scenery. Maybe they shouldn’t at times when a missile-shooting robot is programmed to kill! Another idea: have fun on the upward fans! In this video they let you gracefully(ish) float up to the next blocks…which we call the “Bridge of Friendship!” Here, your bond is tested. Would your friend stand on the block that forms the bridge across and wait for you to walk across? Or would your friend let you fall in the spikes of betrayal??

We hope by watching this video, you and your friends will realize that you’ll need to work together to solve these puzzles or you’ll never get out alive

But what’s the fun in that? Don’t worry, you’re still allowed to mess around and grief your friend. Don’t worry if you get the impression that this level is short and sweet. Its an early act and rest assured, we’ll have hundreds of levels for you to endure…*ahem.*

Now carry on, watch our Prisoner Update/Level Playthrough NOW!

The event is taking place on October 23rd, 2011 in San Diego. If you’re in the area and want to check it out, visit www.TheDebbieBertonWalk.com!

There’s more to be featured in an upcoming post after the next Prisoner Update! One last thing…

San Diego Asian Film Festival

The festival starts Thursday, October 20 through Friday the 28th. Come experience a wide array of films that you won’t get to see anywhere else, attend the parties, meet new people and talk to us! ‘Til next post (which is probably tomorrow),

EXTRA LIFE

If you know what this is, props to you. If you don’t, I’ll still give you props because I’ll tell you about it.

Extra Life is an annual event created by Sarcastic Gamer to fundraise money to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals all over the nation. People pledge to play video games for a certain number of hours, and seek sponsors to honor their pledge by donating to the cause.

This year, it will be on Saturday, October 15, 2011. If we raise at least $500 (before Saturday), we’ll have one of our own employees play for 24 hours straight and put a Live Stream up on this blog. If we don’t reach that goal, we’ll play for 2 hours to honor those who have donated (Thanks to those who have already!). We’re raising money to support the kids at Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego (Facebook | Twitter)!

Please support us by donating to any member of Team Behemoth HERE!!

Kids: Ask your parents if they can donate!

Remember, all donations are tax-deductible, and 100% goes to help children in need. Every bit helps. You can even just link to this post from your Facebook or Twitters to get the word out and that would make us proud ^_____^
