Just a week away before our small crew of Behemoth staff head over to Japan and set up our booth for BitSummit 2014! We’ll be exhibiting our games at one of the large sponsor booths, plus we’ll be selling a limited amount of merchandise.

Fans of Castle Crashers will have a chance to buy some figurines, mobile charms and keychains at our booth. Limited selection and limited quantities on Friday and Saturday. Only cash in Japanese yen accepted.

Also worth noting, Friday will be filled with speeches, including one from our very own John Baez. The BitSummit organizers have tentatively planned on streaming the event and as soon as they announce the channel details, we’ll share them with you!

Finally, if you are press attending BitSummit and you’d like to arrange an interview, please e-mail Megan at games[at]thebehemoth[dot]com. We’re coming with a small staff, so we want to make sure to have a chance to chat with you while ensuring our booth is covered. Arigatou!

The Behemoth Co-Sponsors BitSummit MMXIV

It’s been a while and we’ve missed you, Japan! We’re coming back and for the first time ever we will be going to Kyoto!

The city of Kyoto is renowned for their temples, shrines and historical monuments. Even more impressive for video game fans is that it’s home to the Nintendo headquarters as well as other awesome developers. However, the main reason for our return is the BitSummit MMXIV: Sound + Vision, Kyoto Indie Game Festival!

BitSummit MMXIV is a Japanese independent game development and media summit with the mission of helping indie Japanese video game developers get their work in front of a global audience. In addition, the summit provides a space for Western developers to learn about Japan’s homegrown video games. BitSummit MMXIV will be held at Miyako Messe, March 7th through 9th, 2014.

The Behemoth will be co-sponsoring the event to support the burgeoning Japanese independent developer community. We believe that through events like BitSummit MMXIV, independent Japanese developers can build a healthy counterpoint to the industrial strength AAA video game industry in Japan. If you are in the Kyoto area in early March please stop by and say hello to all your favorite independent game developers and make some new friends!
