Resurrecting the Arcade at PAX East

After experimenting with building our own four player Castle Crashers arcade cabinet we decided to expand on the idea a little. So for PAX East next week we are bringing a total of 5 handmade arcade cabinets with us.

Four of these cabinets will feature a two player BattleBlock Theater setup with the latest build of the game, (which is looking amazing) and the final unit is the original four player Castle Crashers cabinet that started it all. BattleBlock Theater runs off an Xbox 360, while the Castle Crashers cabinet is using a PS3. All of these cabinets are built in-house here in San Diego, and feature a secondary display that rises out of the back of every machine via a remote control. Although the last part about the secondary display is not very relevant, I wanted to emphasize that it was remote controlled and it freaking rises up from the back of the unit like a Phoenix!

So if you’re going to be in Boston March 11-13th please try to come by Booth #550 and say hello. It’s the first time we’re showing all of our games using nothing but arcade cabinets. I’m not saying there is some type of arcade contest going on at PAX this year, but if there was I’m betting we’re currently in 1st place; I’m talking to you Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam!
