Castle Crashing the Holidays

holidaychickenAs we near yet another end the end of another year here at The Behemoth, we look back. We look back on the endless stream of frantic and fun tradeshows (five of them!) and the beginning of exciting new projects like our 3rd Game and Castle Crashers for PS3.

16 months now since our baby Castle Crashers first blinked at the wide world, and it is still the top rated game on all of XBLA, as rated by Xbox 360 gamers.  That means a lot to us because it isn’t just a publication, it is voting from the gamers themselves. That means that you guys like what we made and we liked you even before you liked us ANYWAY, so we couldn’t like you even more since we already liked you at maximum capacity.

By our ACTUAL count, Castle Crashers has saved 27 marriages (while destroying 1, sorry about that), created 346 father/daughter bonding experiences, been tattooed on 39 bodies, and resulted in exactly 520,687,903 hours of entertainment  for people all over the planet.  That’s pretty amazing. If you were to ask me what’s amazing I would have included that in my response.

I can tell you that you can give Castle Crashers to someone as a gift. And here are two ways to do it:

1) If you happen to live in the USA you can click here, to gift the game via Amazon (or to add it to your Amazon wishlist!)

2) Or, if you prefer to have a physical something to wrap up in a box with a pretty bow, you can go to The Behemoth’s online store and get a special card with the game code (we ship anywhere). As an added bonus, this comes with a free limited-edition collectible pewter medallion. There were only 1000 made, and only a few hundred left! You can gift the Game and the Medallion, or keep the medallion for yourself!

And of course, for your special someone who is already a fan of Castle Crashers, don’t forget to check our all the cool Castle Crashers Shwag!

Here’s wishing you a joyous holiday, and thanks again for all your support this year! …and don’t worry, we have a few more surprises in store for you before the year is out.  😉

DIY Castle Crashers Helmet

Orange Knight Signs at Comic Con 2009

Comic Con 2009 had a special visitor- The Orange Knight came by to sign autographs with Dan and the Orange Princess! Since we like to build stuff here at the Behemoth, I’m going to detail how I made the helmet. There’s no right or wrong way to build them, but this one is light and durable and provides good visibility. The one thing you might need to order is the foam filter material I used for white cross on the front. The pores of the foam are pretty far apart, so the visibility out of the helmet is great. This is what I ordered:

Polyurethane Foam Air Filter Pad, 1/4″ thick item # 9803K3 from McMaster.com 20 pores per inch.

Everything else you can get at a hardware store. You’ll need a five gallon bucket, mat knife, cardboard, paint, scrap foam blocks (rigid styrofoam, like packing material) and soft foam, hot glue, Elmers white glue, Gorilla glue (for filling gaps) and tape. Ready, Set, GO!
