Today was a huge day for us chickens at The Behemoth. We presented our Behemoth Roadmap stream, which announced all the exciting stuff we’ve been up to lately! Oh, and did we mention ALL of our games are still discounted on Steam? Happy Behemoth Roadmap week! BAAAAAWK!


Here’s a quick rundown of all the announcements from the stream!

DLC Announcement: Castle Crashers Painter Boss Paradise

The Castle Crashers Painter Boss Paradise is soon coming to Steam as paid DLC! The update will include:

  • Steam workshop capabilities – make your own knight skins, choose your magic, and share with the world!
  • New official character: play as Paint Junior to use your imagination and create art that destroys enemies!
  • New player and weapon artwork for all official playable characters (with an option toggle on or off).
  • Play as ANYTHING you want in Castle Crashers! But keep in mind Steam guidelines, please. 🙂

Calling all Cat Guards back to BattleBlock Theater…

Cat got your tongue? BattleBlock Theater for Steam will soon get a quality of life update, including:

  • Enhanced rendering – no more crunchy compression and much higher resolution!
  • Lightning fast frame rates, limited only by your monitor’s capability!
  • Higher audio bitrates for delicious sound!
  • Various bug fixes and overall enhancements, hooray!
  • Support for more controller types!

We’re also preparing the game for other platforms! Which ones? When? TBA, BUT YES, IT’S COMING! OH HAPPY DAY!

Alien Hominid invades PlayStation!

Pit People Update 8?!

Pitheads, we haven’t forgotten about you, either! A quality of life update for Pit People is also on the horizon, it’s just a bit farther down on our little (big) chicken roadmap. Stay tuned, our ferocious fighters!

And beyond… a brand new game!

While we show some attention to our previous titles, we’ll also be embarking on the journey of starting a brand new game for all of you chickens to enjoy. Prototyping for our next game has commenced! That’s pretty much all we have to say about it, for now…

Castle Crashers Physical now available on our merch store!

It’s time! Through one round of pre-orders and a record-breaking flash sale, Castle Crashers Remastered is available for Nintendo Switch physical! Stocked and distributed through our merch store DIRECTLY, you can place an order for it beginning today, April 1st at 12PM PDT!

No, this is not an elaborate joke and definitely not an April Fools Day prank, IT’S TIME. So sharpen your broccoli sword, eat your sandwich and close your helmet, for crying out loud, because we have some castles to crash.

The price remains the same since our initial limited launch of it: $29.99 excluding shipping for the game itself, and it comes with a sticker pack and character unlock guide book! Yes, a GUIDE BOOK for you to physically hold and flip through, a reminder of the days long gone spent poring over guides and maps and unlocks and combo buttons…all that’s missing is pizza and Surge Cola and you, too, can have your childhood back*!

All of us here at The Behemoth are grateful to the fans and friends we’ve made along the way with this title and all our other game babies, and we truly thank you for waiting [mostly] patiently for this release. 

We posted a while back that we have temporarily suspended international orders through our store while we review more affordable options to YOU, our beloved international merch lovers! We are still in the middle of this process, so our merch store will continue to be North America (US/Canada) only for the time being. We truly appreciate your understanding and patience as we try to restructure this to make it better for you, and assure you that this is not the final chance to secure Castle Crashers in its physical form. We’ll let you know as soon as possible!

Valentine’s Day Contest Winners!

We asked, and you all most certainly answered! Not only that, but you answered so hard we had to push our winner reveal out by a day to make sure each entry got the amount of eyes on it that it deserved. We’re always blown away by the amount of talent, passion, and attention to detail that our community possesses, so good job! To you specifically! Pat yourself on the back right now. I’m waiting.

We received nearly three hundred entries for our Pink Knight Valentine’s Day art contest and while we wish we could award all three hundred of you people a Pink Knight figurine…contests are contests, and you either win first place or you LOSE!!!1!! (But try to keep a sunny disposition, nobody likes a CRYBABY.)

Except with this contest, we originally had only three winners. And we realized that we couldn’t pick just three. We realized we’re so surrounded on all sides by artists (and sculptors, and crocheters, and…ice cream molders?) So instead of purely winning or losing, the Necromancer found it in their heart to resurrect a few more goodies (read as: Blacksmith plushies!).

While chickens can’t talk, this chicken has chicken fingers, and wanted to thank everybody who submitted, participated, posted their art, and made us smile. It’s nice to take a step back and focus on love, rainbows, and hamsters every once in a while. We read and reviewed every single entry, whether or not we were able to give yours a personal response. This warm, fuzzy feeling inside was something akin to heartburn for us, so we decided to share it with everyone: go check out the full album of submissions here.
