Castle Crashers is XBLA 2008 Game of the Year!

The people have spoken, and you voted Castle Crashers  “2008 Game of the Year” in the 2nd annual Xbox LIVE Arcade Awards!!  We were up against some stiff competition with all the great games that came out last year,  so we are very appreciative of this honor.

The XBLA community also voted Castle Crashers  Best Original Game” and “Best Co-op Mode“. A BIG thank you to all who voted, you are the wind beneath our chicken wings!  Seriously, we have the best fans in the whole world.

Tokyo Anime Fair and Game #3 stuffs!

Hello there world,

As the duly appointed “Mayor of Behemothtown“, I am making my first dev blog post!

In an effort to reach out to our Japanese fans, John, Dan and Emil will be flying off to Tokyo next week and will represent The Behemoth at Tokyo Anime Fair March 20th and 21st at booth H-10. We will be showcasing Castle Crashers, Alien Hominid, and… an uber-early version of Game #3!

So if you happen to be in Tokyo, stop on by!!

Emil will (hopefully) be updating the Dev Blog throughout the trip, and if our shiny new video camera works, maybe he will even post videos of their adventures!

Just a few days before (March 18th), we will also be revealing our first ever trailer for our next game right here on the Dev Blog. By popular request, here is something to whet your appetite in the meantime:

Also, great big thank you’s to everyone who voted for Castle Crashers for the XBLA Awards! Today is the last day to vote if you haven’t yet.. 🙂

Kelly

Dev Blog

devblogpost

As we continue our development on Castle Crashers, we wanted to try to get more information about the game out to all of our fans/readers. A few months back we started recording all of the work Dan was doing on the game. We just capture the video from his screen and then speed the clip up to about 600%, and it turns out amazing. As a result of the awesomeness (that’s not a word) of the video we went live with our dev blog, hopefully it gives everyone a little bit of an insight on the development process we go through.

That’s pretty much it for now, we’ve updated the page almost every day this week, and we’ll continue to make weekly updates as we get closer to our summer release. Thanks for all the continued support, and if you have any questions, please stop by our forums and say hello.

Update: One of our testers put togther this 3d rendering of one of the knights from Castle Crashers, and recorded the process. You should check it out
