Castle Crashers is completely completed

Castle Crashers is completely completed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel really great about how the final product has come out after playing through a few times last night. I’m very proud of what our team was able to accomplish. This game is undoubtedly the largest 360 XBLA game that has any kind of story; Large in scope, takes hours and hours to go through with your buddies. Lots of little treasures and secrets hiding around the levels, many unlockable characters all with a different feel, and lastly, no real weak spots in the game that I can foresee haunting me for the rest of my life. πŸ™‚

Now before anyone goes to turn on their 360 to give it a look please note that it takes a couple months at the very least from this point. It has to go through all the required hoops of certification/final testing & all that jazz before it will actually become available on the service. Because of this, amongst other things, there is no actual release date that we can give anyone right now. However I have to say it’s a good feeling know that the crashers are working their way into the world as you are reading this, isn’t it?

I have included new screenshots of a couple levels being played above. Here you can see danger in the dreaded ice arena, as well as the war in the bear village (this was also posted in the media section ).

I (and the rest of the team I am certain) want to thank you all for the patience you have shown as we worked on this project. We too were anxious for the game to be finished – but we just could not rush and end up risking the quality! The fan art and the amazing support we’ve received while working on this game has really uplifted our spirits and helped create something better than we would have been able to otherwise. You guys are awesome — thank you very much!!!!!

We are STILL MAKING UPDATES to this devblog! We will still be showing characters, animal orbs, videos, weapons, and other updates as usual, so don’t think we’re wrapping this up!

  1. That’s so cool you guys. Congratulations. I’ve been waiting for this game since you guys first announced it. It keeps looking better and better and better.

Ever since PAX my mouth has been watering to get to play it more.

  2. Man, after my continued support for you guys with buying Alien Hominid(PS2) and the toys and merchandise and what-not, its sad to say that i will be missing out on this one…for I have a PS3. Regardless, I hope you guys do well with this.

  3. Awesome!! Great work guys!

I’ll make sure to buy the game as soon as I get an xbox πŸ™‚

Good luck with sales and future projects! (hope we’ll see one soon)

  4. Finally! This is my most anticipated Xbox 360 XBLA game! I will definately buy this game the day it comes out on the Marketplace. I am willing to pay 1600 points for it. Anything below will of course be awesome, but I know this game is gonna be the best XBLA game ever and you do deserve to get some big cash as a reward. ^ . ^

  5. Finary! it’s about fawking time! Finarry those damn mongorians will break down my sh!tty walrllr

  6. How comes there’s reflection of the gate but no reflections of the warriors in the first screenshot?

  7. Finally, I can’t w8 until it’s released.
Would it be released in Europe on the same day as in the USA?

  8. RROD FTL! Time for Castle Crashers to go multi-platform! If not for high cost/high failure rate of 360s I’d have one in a heartbeat. But who wants to buy something that is so likely to break? My NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PSX, Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube, GBL, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, DS Lite, Wii are all in working order. My XBOX is a paperweight. And all I read about the 360 is that it has an even more ridiculous failure rate… So shameful. ‘Cuz while I wasn’t too impressed with the original XBOX, the 360 appears to have lots of awesome titles.

  9. Curse Microsoft and their approval process! I want to crash some castles, as a fish wielding bear. Only indie games can give you that kind of scenario.

  10. Been following the developement of the game since Castle Crashing: The Beard was released on Newgrounds. The final product looks exsquisite, looks like everyone on the team did an amazing job at creating the game.

Can’t wait to play it with my friends all the different choices (Character, Weapon, Animal Orb, etc…) looks like it will make the game alot of fun and make you wana collect them all.

Also the different combinations you can make of all those items and characters will allow a good amount of replayability I know i’ll personally end up playing the game through at least 3 times with different friends of mine because we’ve all been looking forward to the games release.
