Castle Crashers Out Today for PSN!

Happy release day everyone. Today we can finally say that Castle Crashers for the PlayStation Network is here! Well technically it comes out at around 2pm PST but that’s good enough. As you read this post we are currently over 1.8 MILLION players who have experienced Castle Crashers! It’s almost as crazy sounding to read as it is to type out. With the imminent release of the game later today we are hoping to shoot past the 2 MILLION players mark very soon and that’s just very exciting and crazy at the same time.

Of course we wouldn’t be alive today if it wasn’t for the continuous support from all of our fans. We meet all of you at various shows, talk to you through emails, forums, comments, and the one thing that always remains the same is you are all very awesome.

Tomorrow we are on a plane to Seattle to attend the Penny-Arcade Expo. This will be our largest booth at PAX ever and we’re bringing everything we possibly can to make the experience great. Castle Crashers Arcade Cabinet running on a PlayStation 3, BattleBlock Theater demo, new merchandise (yes this means a PAX Exclusive T-Shirt among other things), and the list keeps going on. If you are in the area, or even if you’re not, come on by to Booth #3102 and say hello to us and play our games. We hope to see all of you on PSN later tonight attempting to rescue some kidnapped princesses. They’re all tied up on posts and everything, won’t you help them? They need your help!

    Any news on the EU release yet? been waiting since I sold my XBOX, out of everything in it’s library CC is the only game I’ve really missed. Well, CC, Geometry Wars and Mass Effect, but near enough!

    Anyway any news on the release for the others (Europe, Australlia) would be greatly appreciated.

      • You can’t use EU credit cards with the US Store 🙁
        Can you buy a wallet card thingy and use it with US store? 😀

      We’re still testing the EU build with SCEE and will have more updates as soon as we get them. It’s definitely coming soon, just not sure how soon is yet.

  3. You can use US PSN cards on the US store yes, but they are not so easily acquired, naturally.

    You can’t bill outside of the US though, on a US account, so no means of payment aside PSN cards as far as I’m aware.

    • I also just noticed that the original trailer, released for the PSN version – said castle crashers was coming ‘soon’.

      Soon appears to include periods over a year. I hope the EU version is not too long… :S

    • It sais over 1 million people played well im not one of them and i want this game i waited hours and hours for it to come out and finnaly when i thought it would come out it didnt….

  14. soo withint 30 mins it went from 5.00 out of 5, rated now its 4.74 out of 5, rated i dont like the rating 😛 it shoulda be on 5 but im prob gonna have to wait 3 more hours when playstation stores stops updating or something i bought a psn card this morning and i still have money on it and i want to buy Castle Crashers it help to come out like ….. NOW! 🙂

Bought it as soon as it came out without hesitation, gave it the first rating of 5 stars, played with my friend online WITH NO LAG MIGHT I ADD, it was a fantastic night overall, and the download only took about 5 minutes. To all developers at the Behemoth, thank you for your hard work on the PS3, I know that countless tests get annoying but your hard work really shows and it pays of very well, I love you guys and to all who read this, its a must buy. Now I just need to find a way to transport it to my friends house so we can start on a different file, anyhoo, once again, a million thanks.

  20. I hope you guys at The Behemoth are aware that none of the online functions in the game work properly. I have just sent you $15CAN to play online co-op with my friend, and absolutely nothing works. Lots of complaining is going on on Gamefaqs too.

    Creating games: No one ever joins.
    Quick match: No games available. All the time.
    My friend invites me: The game is no longer available. All the time.
    Custom Match (searching for my friend’s public game, with various settings tested): No games found. All the time.

    After some research, I saw that the game had the same problems back in 2007 on XBOX.

    I hope you are preparing a patch quickly enough or else I’ll warn people against buying the game and I will have to ask for a refund.

    OMG ! Its finally on the Ps3 🙂 , Ive downloaded it yesterday !

    Exept for the big internet problem (finding a game, host a game, quickmatch all that stuff is a pain in the *** to connect), I Love it ! Thanks you so much !

  23. I’m also having connection issues, being absolutely unable to find or play with anyone online, just like the people who posted above me. (Want to make sure The Behemoth knows about this problem and will work to fix it).

    We appreciate your hard work guys. So please, just take care of this when you can.

  24. Can U please tell me when it will be out for Australia? I can’t find any info anywhere about it. I understand the European version is delayed, is it a similar situation?

    • I don’t speak for Behemoth, of course.

      However generally speaking, the AU store is considered a sub-set of Europe, as far as Sony are concerned. The AU store is updated when the EU stores are updated.

      Sony have to handle each european store seperately, getting licensing sorted for each country, and then they update the content to the store, Sony basically bundle Australia with these countries, so Australia has a store the same as the other countries of Europe.

      So I assume, Australia will get the update when the rest of Europe do. The only place Australia differs is with ultra-violent video games.

  25. i have a question, i bought the game but when i downlaod it a few seconds after clicking on dowload it says downlaod complete but where is the game suppose to be on the ps menu?
