Back from PAX, Back on the Interweb!

First of all I wanted to apologize for our sites being down for the past few days. Apparently when everyone in the world tries to access our website at the same time, the server starts to freak out. Our hope was to have an increased amount of people visiting our sites (dev blog, forum, etc) but didn’t expect this many. What’s the official word from our hosting provider you ask? Abuse and overuse!

On to the most important thing, Castle Crashers…..

For those of you who are experiencing online issues, saving issues, etc I want to assure you that we are all very hard at work at getting an update to the game out as fast as we can. I am gathering all of the emails, forum posts, etc, etc for all of the issues that have been reported. As soon as I get them organized I will try to post them on here so everyone can see what we’re going to fix for the update. Again if you have any issues you want to discuss with us please email them to games[at]thebehemoth[dot]com and try to put a relevant subject line on there so I can sort through them easier. My next step is to get our forums back online without getting shut down again in the meantime you can find me on the Xbox forums.

Now we don’t have official numbers from Microsoft yet but according to our friends over at vgchartz, “The Behemoth’s anticipated beat ’em up smashes every record with 78,545 units”. Apparently our 3 day sales are one of the highest recorded in Xbox LIVE Arcade history, sweet! Once we get some official numbers we’ll post them heres but as of right now the leaderboards show 170,000 users listed!

Thanks so much everybody for your support and understanding. Without your amazing dedication we wouldn’t even be here, so keep on crashing those castles and we will get everything smoothed out ASAP!

  5. Glad to see the site’s back up and that the game is doing so well as far as unofficial sales go, although I’m sure the Official number won’t look so bad either.

    Love the game it’s hand down my favorite XBLA title buy a long shot, and in my opinion it’s the best XBLA title to be released. You guy’s keep out doing yourselves keep up the awesome work.

  8. I first have to say that I’m addicted to this game. Great job, Behemoth.

    However, I am experiencing massive online issues that really hurts the experience. I can’t connect to any “All You Can Quaff” or “Arena” matches. When I try to play a game with my friends, the game stutters (freezes) every 20 seconds which really breaks up the action (in a negative way of course). Please fix this ASAP!

    I was also wondering when the online store will be restocked. I knew I should have ordered those figurines the day before the game came out. Please restock the figurines!

    I’m regretting for buying such a crap of game when I could downloaded Braid instead, but hell no, I just said to mylself “Castle Crasher looks better”. Now I realize that I was so wrong.

  15. Fantastic game, my only issue right now is the disconnections online. Quick match doesn’t work. AT ALL. SOMETIMES I can join a custom match, but usually disconnect before or after the character select screen. If we make it to the levels, the next usual disconnect is at the bosses.

    And a friend of mine had the save glitch happen, where the game was disconnected, he was booted to the Castle Crashers title screen, but lost all his money, weapons, and animals.

    And the other glitch I’ve seen is if you kill a boss with the boomerang (the Barbarian and catfish in particular), the screen glitches and becomes nothing but lines, forcing you to reboot the game or your console.

    Fantastic game though, worth every penny. Still waiting for a way to get Alien Hominid without the XBLA game. I bought it back for the gamecube when it was $30…no love for me 🙁

  16. it’s good to see that you guys are working on these issues, and congrats! My only question is about your post last week about the barbarian figure. any word on whether or not that’s going on sale on the site?

    and being a huge inspiration to developers and animators, especially on NG.

    Seriously, you really outdid yourself. Its incredible how much you guys have improved since AH (which i also loved). CC is actually tons better than battletoads, TMNT, Streets of Rage.. it is the best side scroller beat’em up ive ever played. No doubt.

    Its just so damn playable! Amazing graphics, fun gameplay..easily the best XBLA game out there. I hope success doesnt go to your heads, and you stay a small team..

    10/10 i fucking love castle crashers. Its also a massive inspiration to see developers with such respect for their art form…the fact that you redid the game when you didnt like it, and added so much to it when you were given more size allowance.
    i am a hardcore behemoth fan now. lol. cant wait to see what happens next…

    OK, let me try an help with glitches..
    – there is some strange transparency going on (the wall) just before you enter the arabian castle interior.
    – inside the arabian area (there is a cat behind the window), if you run left to the door, you can somehow run up into the ceiling and behind the level..
    – in the level..ermm.. its flooded? its kind of a castle, and enemies descend from staircases… if you go up the staircases and attack, it is clear where the “layers” of the environment are, and you can see your attack through them..
    – if you stand on a bench in the church marriage level, when it goes to cutscene, your shadow is still too far below you, and so is any smoke spawned..

    ok hope that helped a bit :]
