17 Days Left!

We’re counting down the days until Castle Crashers is released, which is in 17 days! In preparation for this day we’ve been putting together some awesome promotional banners that can be used just about anywhere.  So if you want to help us out grab any of the three images below and plaster them anywhere you can think of to help spread the word. If you do end up using the images below please try to link them back to castlecrashers.com

We’ve also put up our official countdown timer over at castlecrashers.com so please stop by and check it out. It’s all epic looking and the music makes you feel special inside. (or not)

Thanks!

  1. I agree, the loader add the “epic” feeling to the game. amazing work. The music is indeed great and I’ll go ahead and download it on newground.com .

on a side note, I finally gave in and ordered the 4 knights and a t-shirt to encourage you guys (or was it because I can’t wait to have the knights ornate my office at home and work too).

  2. When I heard the song I felt so empowered that I actualy killed a fully grown bull with my bare hands.

  3. That from the guy who doesn’t own a 360 and is going to my place as soon as they can, provided it’s the same person, which it most likely is.

  4. I’m just wondering; are the trophies still being given out? I’m just wondering, because I’d have something to do in my spare time.

  5. looks like the rat beating bat is used by the beekeeper, and the saracen sword is used by the royal guard

  6. I must say I’ve been, and still am, super excited for this game!

However, I have a question I was hoping someone could answer. If you play along will the game be really hard? I started to wonder this after Xbox Magazine wrote this in their review: (Talking about Solo play) “But there you run into a wholly separate issue: poor difficulty balancing that leaves you to furiously and repetitively exploit patterns in enemy behavior just to survive the onslaught.”

Can anyone clear this up for me? Since I’m currently not a Gold member I was really looking forward to just playing this by myself most of the time. Will this be possible? Or are there different difficulty levels to choose from?

    Thanks for the help!

  7. Need more updates, you guess have been really lackluster lately with the lack of updates. Not to mention the AH trophy contest that just magically stopped getting updated.

  8. Luke, while I have not played any demo or advanced versions of the game to properly defend the review’s comments, I do think that it has been said by Behemoth that the game doesn’t really punish you for dying. If I recall right, you would just start back on the map screen, and that if you did have to go through a level more than once, that you would be the stronger for it due to leveling up, etc. If you have played older beat’em’up games like this, dying would usually mean either starting the game over or putting in more quarters, if you didn’t have any lives left.

As far as exploiting patterns and fending off a horde of enemies, that’s what all the other games of this type do as well, make you and maybe some friends face hundreds of enemies. Luring enemies in by moving up and down was a tactic on the old machines as well, so maybe they’re referring to this too?

I wish I have played the game already so I could better confirm or disagree with their opinions, but chances are I would still be playing it right now! Just remember, the trial version will be free, and chances are what you see in that trial will be what happens more or less for the rest of the game. If you find it being too cheap, frustrating, or even not-fun, then you know it will just be more of the same. But I hope you’ll at least give the trial a chance to find out!

  9. today i downloaded the trail to bionic commando…. it sucked. seriously i cant believe they put this before castle crashers….

  10. @Tinny

Hey, thanks for clearing things up a bit. I’m definitly going to download the trial. Actually, I like the art style of this game so much I’m tempted to just buy it before even trying it! 😀

  11. WHAT!?
chicos, I have a hard time believing you. I played that demo and it was fun. Way too short, but fun none-the-less.
Besides, anyone who gets all these arcade titles won’t touch any other game before CC, and since CC is huge, it will harm profits for Microsoft. That stand-point is more important to them then giving the community what it wants.

  12. well i really hated the controls srry if i offended but todays my b-day argh! if only cc was out instead of bc!
